Claudine Carter-Pereira , Assistant Artistic Director of Jubilee Dance Theatre, began dancing at age 3, with the Lois Seiler Academy of Dance in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island in the Bahamas.  Her training included ballet, jazz, tap and gymnastics.   While in the Bahamas, Claudine was the recipient of numerous awards including 1st place in Dance in the Bahamas National Arts Festival,  the winner of the Miss Hal Jacksons Talented Teen International - Grand Bahama and 1st runner up in the National Competition.  Additionally, she studied extensively with the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City in their Trainee Program.  At the age of 15 she left the Bahamas and moved to the United States, where attended Deerfield Beach High School for her Junior and Senior year.  During that time, she competed in the NAACP Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACTSO) competition in Dance where she won 1st Place in Dance in both the Regional and State competitions.

Claudine put her dance career on the “back burner” to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology (Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland) and Master of Science Degree in Forensic Science (Virginia Commonwealth University-Richmond, VA).  Although, while in graduate school she continued her ballet training at Virginia Commonwealth University and Richmond Ballet.   She taught ballet, jazz and tap and performed as a guest artist in several productions for dance studios in the area.

Upon completion of graduate school, Claudine moved back to Baltimore, where she worked as a Crime Scene Technician with the Baltimore City Police Department - Crime Laboratory.  While processing forensic evidence "by day," she continued teaching ballet during her "free" time.

Claudine is currently working with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Crime Laboratory – where they have nicknamed her the “Forensic Ballerina.”  Despite her change in career path, she attributes many of her successes in life to lessons learned in "ballet class" and continues to share this concept through her passion for the art of dance through teaching and  performing.

Her South Florida performing credits include: South Broward Ballet Company roles in “Don Quixote,” “Nutcracker,” “Peter and the Wolf,” “Sleeping Beauty” and the principal dancer in “Cinderella.” Claudine is an active member with Dance Educators of America, the Florida Dance Association,  a former member of the National Dance Association and the American Alliance for Health Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Association.  Recently, Claudine was selected for the 2007 edition of "Who's Who of American Women;" which features “the lives and careers of outstanding women in every significant field of endeavor in North America.”
